We are actively interviewing qualified candidates to join our Training team as a National Maintenance Trainer. This person will create, organize, administer, evaluate, and enhance training and educational materials for our multifamily housing maintenance programs. They will mentor our Maintenance people nationwide be the best they can be!

This role is based in Franktown, CO and requires 50%-75% nationwide travel. All travel is 100% paid by Monarch with a generous daily per diem for food.

We are seeking a subject matter expert on industry maintenance protocols, whether legally required (OSHA, EPA, CPO, etc.) or established company best practices.

What you would be doing:

  • Teach and, when necessary, expertly perform all of the following tasks:
    • Develop, manage, and execute timely on a work order system.
    • Develop, manage, and execute timely on a make-ready / unit turning system.
    • Develop, manage, and execute timely on HVAC troubleshooting and repair, within EPA guidelines.
    • Develop, manage, and execute preventative maintenance programs and technical building repair.
    • Understand and apply basic exterior building maintenance principles (gutters, downspouts, etc.).
    • Manage general grounds keeping needs effectively and efficiently.
    • Understand and apply P/O’s and Inventory Control systems.
    • Understand, write, review, and evaluate basic maintenance budgets.
    • Inspect, evaluate, and enhance organization and cleanliness protocols for maintenance shops.
    • Understand, manage, and execute on how to effectively cover a 24/7 emergency phone.
    • Understand and apply proper snow removal techniques, including how to best manage tracking.
    • Understand and apply pool maintenance knowledge, including assistance with site-level CPO certification.
    • Manage 3rd party vendors successfully.
    • Understand, lead, and manage capital projects, including but not limited to rehab and major repairs.
  • Develop, distribute, and teach Monarch Maintenance “Best Practices”, including painting and staining applications to both interiors and exteriors.
  • Mentor Maintenance Supervisors on how to best manage a maintenance team; provide formal or group training as needed.
  • Support site/field maintenance teams remotely.

What we are looking for:

  • 6+ years’ experience in maintenance work, including at least 4 years in multifamily housing.
  • EPA Certification (Section 608)
  • CPO certification (Certified Pool and Spa Operator)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, browsers, online ordering, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of:
    • Multifamily maintenance budgets.
    • Drywalling, including painting and carpentry.
    • Plumbing, including sweating copper pipe.
    • Water heaters, both gas and electric.
    • Electrical, including outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
    • Repair and/or diagnosis of appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, garbage disposals.
    • HVAC systems.
  • Exceptional demonstrable customer service skills.
