Position Summary:
The person in this position is responsible for performing hands-on inspections, and preliminary evaluations of Drilling Part Tools & Equipment. Directly inputting inspection results into the Company Data Management System. Performing daily QC checks of the Company Data Management System & drilling tools/equipment. During down times, this position will be required to help around the shop where assistance is needed. This individual reports directly to the Anchorage Based Kakivik Special Projects Manager.
Essential job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:

• Demonstrate and ensure an overall commitment to safety.

• Able to work in a team environment and independently.

• An NDT Level II individual shall be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment for task at hand.

• Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, specifications, procedures, and customer's specific requests.

• Properly perform specific calibrations, specific NDE, and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and to record accurate results.

• Competent user in Microsoft Programs; this including and not limited to - Word, Excel, Etc.

• As required by various jobs and clients:

• Read isometric drawings.

• Able to be responsive to client calls and emails.

• Execute safety and permitting requirements.

• Perform routine maintenance and repair equipment.

• Operate vehicles and equipment (With certification or license)..

• Direct, instruct, and be a positive role model to the trainee or Level I that is accompanying them on the job.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

A minimum ASNT Level II certification in the following methods and techniques:

• Required - Magnetic Particle (MT) Level II specific to Yoke techniques using both wet/dry & visible/fluorescent mediums.

• Required - Liquid Penetrant (PT) Level II specific to visible/water wash techniques

• Required – Visual Inspection (PVT) Level II

• Preferred – DS1 Trained and Certified, Inspection experience of Drilling Tools and Equipment.

• Preferred – Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II specific to Straight Beam inspection of corrosion in accordance with ASME, API, ABS, and AWS Standards.

• Preferred - Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II specific to Angle Beam (Shearwave) inspections of welds in accordance with ASME, API and AWS standards.

• Preferred – API 570 Certification

Requirements:Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid driver's license

• Pass a Background check and Drug Screen

Physical Restrictions:

• The overall physical health of the Individual should be well enough to allow them to:

• Vision – correctable to at least 20/40.
• Climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolding up to 100 feet multiple times per day, utilizing three points of contact.
• Be able to safely carry up to 65 pounds with one hand. Must be able to climb stairs/scaffolding/ladder while holding handrail with opposite hand.
• Be able to work in a crouched position for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds while in the crouched position.
• Be able to lift to 65 pounds with a rope using hand-over-hand technique.
• Be able to carry and effectively manipulate a twelve-to-sixteen foot ladder.
• Be able to occasionally lift to 65 pounds to shoulder level.
• Be able to walk, climb on and maneuver on or around piping, piping supports and while working in a crouched position.
• Arm strength push/pull up to 75 pounds; leg strength, up to 175 pounds.
