Job Summary: This job is responsible for overseeing the installation of hardware and software, ensuring back up systems operate effectively, and contributing to organizational policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluates user needs and system functionality and ensures that IT Technicians meet Table Mountain Rancheria needs

• Assists in planning, developing and implementing the Information Systems Department budget, and in obtaining competitive prices from suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness

• Provides support for the network administration backup systems, security management, user account management, e-mail web server, internet access, office systems, and application support

• Schedules upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems

• Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications

• Performs technology needs analysis to ensure up to date equipment for the Rancheria

• Assists with technology planning through ongoing research

• Manages small to medium sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules

• Ensures that software licensing laws are adhered to

• Provides user with appropriate support and advice

• Trains and develops new IS support staff

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting the Information Systems Director in managing the to day operations of the Information Systems Division, ensuring that personnel carry out their respective duties in accordance with all Rancheria policy and procedures and all other applicable Tribal, Federal, and State law. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, unless otherwise waived by Tribal Council as based on determined experience and accomplishments
• Four (4) to Six (6) years Information Systems management experience as well as other relevant educational, trade school, or work experience
• Experience in Cisco network systems management, Solaris, SCO, Veritas Backup Exec, Windows 2K3
• Certified Network Engineer (CNE) preferred
