Network Operations Lead Engineer

Searching for a hard-working Network Operations Lead Engineer with a natural ability to take charge and lead. A high-profile client, in need of a well-versed and experienced Network Operations Lead Engineer who can take lead and ownership of projects to assist the client with their high-growth scaling. This candidate will be working side-by-side with Senior Corporate Management on highly sensitive projects directly impacting all functionality of the client’s network. This position will be the leader of the Network Operations team with oversight of two teams—the engineering and Data Centers. This Director role is responsible for leading a team of managers that manages engineers who handles the provisioning of standard service requests, triage/response to network related incidents/problems, and implementation of complex changes in the data center networks. These environments consist primarily of Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Aruba, with scripting of Python and Go.

What you’ll do:

  • · Design, build, and operate the corporate network accordingly to enable global scaling
  • · Long-term strategic and operational planning for the network
  • · Implement IPv6, MPLS, QoS
  • · Design and work with capabilities for monitoring and alerting self-healing networks
  • · Lead a global team of Tier2 and Tier3 network engineers
  • · Ticket prioritization and business impact assessment of tickets
  • · Develop and maintain incident and problem management processes
  • · Work on a production level rather than an enterprise level
  • · Building adaptive security measures to protect company assets
  • · Identifying opportunities for enabling business scaling
  • · Providing effective leadership, defining implementation opportunities, and ensuring accountability
  • · Evaluation and recommendation of new procedures, software, and services
  • · Troubleshoot and administer juniper SSL VPN, video conferencing issues, wireless related issues (Aruba).
  • · Monitor alerts from various monitoring systems, including Solarwinds, Nagios, Splunk, etc.
  • · Review and approve system and network designs to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and security best practices
  • · Provide day-to-day support of the LAN, WAN, and WLAN network
  • · Other duties assigned as needed

Who you are:

  • Strong Routing/Switching knowledge, Juniper (required), Arista, Cisco, and Meraki.
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale networks, network routing, switches, and internet-related networking and security technologies.
  • ·Strong team leadership while developing and managing business processes and workflow, standardizing documentation, and improving project reporting.
  • Expert level network documentation skills
  • Extensive experience at all layers of the network from physical to application aware firewalls
  • Strong knowledge in scripting - Python and Go
  • Bachelor of Science in Computers or Business related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years Information Technology operations experience
  • Experience in supporting 24X7 global teams
  • Strong skills in process, documentation, and change management
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS).
  • · Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
