About this Position:
Responsible for evaluating, selecting, an ordering equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacturing of company products. Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Studies equipment performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop expertise for equipment in MA
- Ensure business plan targets for safety, quality and production are met
- Identify, propose, implement capital improvements
- Develop required reports to explain major items affecting SQP
- Support major shutdown and weekend activities
- Maintain equipment related documentation
- Fixture / equipment design and modification
- Support other manufacturing areas as needed
Who we are seeking:
Required Experience:
2 years of relevant work experience or 1 year co-op experience in related manufacturing environment
Required Education:
Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
Other job specific skills:
- Ability to read and interpret product design drawings
- Ability to create industrial equipment schematics
Additional Position Factors:
- Workstyle: Onsite
- Approx. Travel: Occasional travel to local suppliers/vendors (~6x/yr); rare long distance travel (~1/yr).
- Physical: Climbing in an out of equipment cells; lifting devices, typically <25lbs
- Overtime: Expectation is after making changes to the line, associate will stay for 2nd shift start to confirm.
- Overtime: Typical week, 5-10 hrs of OT; weekend and shutdown work is likely.
