River City Newspapers is looking for an editor to lead newsgathering efforts in Bullhead City, Arizona.

The position is a key component of a larger regional news team for River City Newspapers, which operates seven newspapers in the area.

The idea candidate will have several years of editing experience but the position may be a good fit for reporters looking for career advancement. Above all else, the editor needs to have a passion for local news and be engaged with the communities he or she covers.

We're looking for a candidate with proven leadership skills, strong reporting chops and digital intelligence. We want a candidate who will assist reporters develop a sense of urgency and move beyond meeting-driven stories. We want an editor who is a team player and will help strengthen collaboration between our seven news operations.

In addition to leading newsgathering efforts for the Mohave Valley Daily News, the editor will also have editorial oversight of two weekly newspapers, the Needles Desert Star in Needles, California, and the Laughlin Times in Laughlin, Nevada.

All of that means there are lots of stories to be told here.

If you’re the outdoors type, you’ll love Mohave County — recreation opportunities abound here, from watersports and fishing access on the lake to hiking and off-road adventures in the mountains and desert just minutes away. Las Vegas is the nearest metro, about 2 1/2 hours to the northwest, and Phoenix is a 3-hour drive in the other direction. We’re situated on the Arizona’s border with California, so Los Angeles and other SoCal destinations are just hours away.
