Operations and Maintenance Division
For over 25 years, Shimmick has been a full-service operations and management services provider with extensive experience in tolling, airports, and transit systems. The O&M division partners with clients to deliver turnkey solutions that are accountable, innovative, technology-infused, with a focus on quality, continued improvement, efficiency, and creating an excellent customer experience. This division provides customers with centric tolling operations and management solutions to agencies in states such as New Hampshire, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, and Washington. This division implemented and currently operates a first of its kind in-lane tag sales and account replenishment service at several main-line toll facilities for the Central Florida Expressway.
Responsibilities:
Typical responsibilites include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitors plazas, ramps, and roadways for potential safety hazards.
- Checks the operation of ramp automatic coin machine's and facility lighting on the roadway system for equipment problems, tampering and/or vandalism.
- Prepares detailed nightly reports on activities.
- Assists Safety and Security Manager with inspections and investigations as necessary.
- Responds to all plaza emergency situation requests by plaza supervisors.
- Perform duties of toll collections as may be required
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED) required
- Applicant must be able to perform the requirements of the job including driving up to 200 miles per shift and performing up to 60 inspections per shift.
- Capable of occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous CFX toll operations security experience.
- Must be able to effectively communicate (i.e., ability to understand, speak, write, and read English).
- Must be able to effectively communicate with toll plaza managers, supervisors, co-workers, management, and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with plaza personnel, law enforcement and the public.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Applicants must be able to do minor vehicle maintenance (i.e., replace wiper blades, change tires).
- Previous toll collection and reload sales experience highly desired.

- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
