POSITION SUMMARY
The Laboratory Technician, Uncertified will perform patient testing in conformance with state and federal regulatory guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
  • Operate multiple testing platforms.
  • Perform lot to lot verification/validation
  • Perform Maintenance, QC and Calibration of multiple testing platforms
  • Adheres to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities.
  • Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
  • Identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.
  • Performs verification / validation (modified FDA) for reagent, equipment and testing platforms, following regulatory guidelines and procedures.
  • Participates in regulatory agency inspection readiness and onsite inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Required:
  • Associates Degree in laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or
  • At least 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that include:
o 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, or 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 hours of chemistry: 6 hours of biology and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology.

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to maintain confidential information
TRAVEL AND HOURS
  • This position is full-time
  • No travel is required with this position
