Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington is a tuition-free Catholic middle school for boys. Guided by the example of Saint Francis de Sales, it strives to educate students, regardless of faith, to maximize their God given potential.
Service Term: 01/01/23 - 07/21/23
Responsibilities
- Fulfill obligations to annual Summer Program
- Teach 3 to 4 classes per day during the school year
- Proctor or assist a school club or sport each quarter / semester
- Supervise and proctor students during meals, homeroom, recess, field trips, Study Hall and Evening Study
- Attend and actively participate in retreat programs for the community, including professional development days for Americorps
- Complete other assigned responsibilities designated by the Principal
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident (recently naturalized citizens are encouraged to apply).
- Express commitment to complete one year of National Service.
- Associates or bachelors degree (Education, Social Work, or Human Services preferred)
- Experience with and/or desire to work with children, youth, and their parents
- Flexibility, creativity, responsibility and initiative; able to work well with others
- Solid speaking and writing skills
- Must obtain all required clearances (Child Abuse, Police Criminal Record, FBI fingerprint)
- Committed to fulfilling the mission of Nativity Prep
- Respect and celebration of diversity and inclusion
- Driver’s License, highly desirable
