Position Summary
: We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Practitioner with strong experience in holistic patient care, problem-solving and working amongst a team of an addiction/behavioral health provider.
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing medical support to the patients we serve, educate the team and community providers. The Nurse Practitioner works effectively with the facility leadership team, medical director, medical team and State Nursing Core of Florida to improve patient outcomes and service delivery. Other duties include conducting follow-up consultations, adjustment of medical dosages, ordering and review of lab work and making referrals. Ideal candidates would have clinical knowledge of opioid addiction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meets with new patients to orient them about services, to identify needs, and to suggest local physicians and services.
- Performs physical examinations.
- Acts as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health of patients and staff.
- Maintains outpatient records. Records statistics and conducts research as deemed necessary by institution. Compiles reports concerning ambulatory care at facility.
- Collaborates with staff to identify patients' needs and to help develop plan to meet these needs.

Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.
- Current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.
- Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state.
- Because of the nature of responsibilities, it is preferable to have experience in counseling and teaching and have a master's degree.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
- May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.
