Position: Nurse Residency Program - start dates between June 2023 and September 2023 for the Fall Cohort (September 2023)
Eligibility: All applicants must be a graduate of a Diploma, ASN or BSN program within the last year.

Departments: By applying to this position, you are being considered for all departments throughout Main Line Health. Space is limited for some units.
Shift/Hours: 36 hours per week, rotating shifts
Weekend: Not to exceed every other weekend, unit specific.
Benefits: Eligible for full time benefit coverage.
Holidays: Rotational (eligible for holiday time).

The Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to ease the transition to practice for the new graduate nurse in their first professional role. Emphasis is given to nursing leadership behaviors, nurse driven outcomes and professional development. The curriculum is designed to enhance the graduates’ critical thinking skills and their ability to use outcome data to promote patient safety.
Through the residency program, new graduates can transition to their profession and gain valuable full-time experiences in most clinical specialties. These evening and night-shift positions offer a comprehensive benefits package, competitive pay and shift differential. Main Line Health offers all new graduates a precepted orientation which is based on the clinical specialty and the individual learning needs of the new graduate. On-going supervised training and educational opportunities are provided to the staff during this transition and after orientation.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited RN or BSN program within the last 12 months or an upcoming graduate of an accredited RN/ BSN program within the next six months.
  • RN (ASN) graduates must be actively enrolled in a BSN program within 6 months of their start date and obtain a BSN within 2 years of their start date.
  • Obtained a preferred 2.8 cumulative GPA.
  • Applicants who have graduated within the last 12 months from their nursing program and have less than one year nursing experience in a non-acute or acute care setting are welcome to apply.

  • Current CPR card
  • Unofficial/Official transcript (transcript MUST include your cumulative GPA). An official transcript will be required if you are offered a position.

Additional item needed: One letter of recommendation
  • Recommendation letters must be from a clinical instructor
  • Recommendation letters submitted on a standard form from your school or a letterhead will be accepted. Main Line Health does not have a specific form for your instructors to use.
  • Informal e-mail recommendations will not be accepted
  • Delay in submission will not affect your application process. A LOR is required in order to receive an official offer of employment from Main Line Health.
