O&M is the list of site specific and technical activities which enable system owners to produce energy in compliance with applicable rules and codes. This role is responsible for supporting all Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities at Commercial and Residential solar sites. This includes reviewing fleet performance, identifying and diagnosing performance problems of open items, and performing corrective actions in the field.

This position requires utilizing remote monitoring platforms to identify issues in the field, would be a self-starter in troubleshooting, and would be able to track the administrative side of field activities. They will be a part of the greater Operations and Maintenance team as well as New Columbia and should excel in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Field and Remote Troubleshooting

• Operate the facility during start-up, shutdown, normal and emergency conditions in accordance with operating procedures and instructions.
• Perform corrective maintenance to restore normal system operation after failure.
• Replace faulty equipment (modules, optimizers, inverters, etc) both in the field and on any monitoring platforms
• Track and closeout open RMA cases and other necessary equipment replacements
• Create and track manufacturer cases
• Utilize electrical instruments (multimeter, megohmeter, thermal camera, etc) as necessary to troubleshoot sites while taking necessary precautions (PPE, etc).
• Review daily reports, logs, checklists and alarm summaries and ensure all information is accurate and complete, with corrective action taken to resolve identified problems.
• Provide and coordinate daily maintenance support as conditions allow to accomplish the established maintenance goals of the facility.
• Recommend corrective actions to remediate performance issues.
• Document in writing service activity history in Computerized Maintenance Management System
• Resolve assigned tickets, tracking necessary warranties, RMAs, inventory, and other items as necessary.
• Document and report notable issues for future design, installation, troubleshooting, and/or preventive maintenance purposes.

Annual Site Inspections and Reports

• Perform preventive maintenance (inspections, filter cleaning, firmware upgrades, etc.)
• Draft inspection reports for distribution both internally and externally

Administrative Work

• Report shift activities, work progress, equipment problems, work requests or unusual conditions in the daily Shift Turnover.
• Provide feedback for changes in plant policies and procedures
• Track all expenses in systems as required
