The City of Ontario and San Bernardino County formed the OIAA in August 2012 by enacting a Joint Powers Agreement. The OIAA provides overall direction for the management, operations, development, and marketing of Ontario International Airport (ONT), for the benefit of the Southern California economy and the residents of the airport's four-county catchment area. ONT is one of Southern California's busiest airports in terms of passenger and air cargo traffic, and the region's only major commercial airport with significant acreage of developable real estate and significant airfield and terminal capacity for future passenger and cargo traffic growth. Perhaps most important, ONT is one of just two airports in the region that can accommodate widebody, long-haul international passenger and wide-body freighter aircraft operations.
The following is partial summation of the benefits outlined in your employment agreement as well as those available to full-time OIAA employees:
- Medical: Employer contribution equal to 85% of the premium of selected medical coverage for employee and eligible dependents
- Dental / Vision: Employer contribution up to the basic level for dental and vision coverage for employee and eligible dependents
- Term Life Insurance: $30,000 in employee coverage; ability to purchase additional life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
- Short-term and long-term disability coverage
- 401(a) OIAA's retirement contribution plan: 10% of base salary
- Voluntary contribution eligibility for a 457(b) employee retirement contribution plan
- 192 Paid Time-off (PTO) hours accrued in accordance to our policy
- Observed Holiday Pay
OIAA does not participate in Social Security and therefore your compensation will not be subject to any employee or employer Social Security taxes. In lieu of this participation, OIAA employees receive a contribution to at 401(a) plan. OIAA is not a California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) employer.
