Our Banquets Coat Check Attendants are the arrangers of our hotel! Entrusted with storing coats, hats, articles of clothing and accessories before an event and retrieving them and giving them to customers afterward. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our Coat Check Attendants accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know.
Our Banquets coat check attendants are responsible for the collection of a guest's coat, hat or accessories upon entry of an event. Typically, the patron is given a numbered ticket to use for retrieval. When the guest returns with his ticket or to pick up items, the attendant retrieves them and returns them to the guest to ensure our guests receives nothing but the best experience.
Coat Check Attendants have the responsibilities of basic customer service, as many guests take the opportunity to ask questions. Guests often ask for directions to a gate or check-in location, restrooms or event areas, for instance. A friendly, courteous and helpful attitude is necessary.
- Maintaining a clean, safe environment is part of the atmosphere. Coat checkers typically clean up floors and counter spaces before, during and after shifts.
- Our coat check attendants have an eye for details and support multiple event functions as needed. Including but not limited to, gift station attending, directing guests, and more. Flexibility is key in this role.
- Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our coat check attendants are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct.
- Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Coat Check Attendants must communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure the alignment remains.
The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, our Coat Check Attendants are provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
