Job Summary and Qualifications

Operating Room (OR) Scrub Technician- Certified

As a Operating Room (OR) Scrub Technician, you will assist the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Assist with preparing operating suite for procedures. Help monitor PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. Clean and sterilize surgical instruments as indicated. The Operating Room Technician anticipates the needs of the surgical suite within the scope of the position's competencies with the use of critical thinking.

Tasks and responsibilities, you will:

• Prepare room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each individual surgical procedure.
• Prepare sterile instrument table
• Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients.
• Assist the surgical team in surgical procedures which may include passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
• Gather equipment for cleaning and sterilization
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Position Qualifications:

• Less than high school.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
