Regional Manager – Operations - South East

Reports To: Managing Director (South East Region)

Location: Remote role. Candidate can be based in AL, GA, MS, FL

Heavy travelling required: 60-70%


Summary

The Regional Manager is responsible for day-to-day decision making and team leadership pertaining to all aspects of operations at several facilities within a geographic area. The Regional Manager will also oversee the deployment of corporate strategic plans for these several facilities.

This role will ensure the effective and efficient operation of all site processes in support of the organization’s targets for revenue growth, profitability, customer service, quality, productivity and safety. The Regional manager will provide coaching and business oversight for the Facility Managers or Supervisors, and other leadership staff within their geography, and provide oversight for acquisition integration activity within their geography.

Job Duties

  • Master all job duties of a Facility Manager
  • Coach and mentor Facility Managers (FMs) or Supervisors within their geography to ensure they are competently delivering against expectations, objectives, and targets
  • “Act like an owner” – Manage all aspects of the business for their regions and demonstrate strong business acumen

o Work with FM’s and Finance to conduct P&L Statement and Cost reviews

o Collaborate with corporate, Managing Director and COO on annual budget development

o Identify high impact value-creation or cost savings opportunities (operational, pricing, services)

  • Ensure safety programs are implemented and effective at all sites, KPIs are in place, and that program gaps are addressed each facility.
  • Ensure that facilities are compliant from an Environmental, Health and Safety perspective
  • Encourage FM behavior around effectively utilizing Reports and Key Performance Indicators to set objectives and drive facility performance improvement in all critical business areas (quality, on time delivery, service, cost, productivity, appearance, safety)
  • Work with FMs to requirements to meet demand at all facilities and across region
  • Coach FMs and teams on managing order fulfillment from intake to delivery to ensure on-time delivery of orders

o Monitor regional dashboards (our central order tracking and fulfillment software)

o Coordinate work with client care, clinics, and other departments to drive issue resolution

o Analyze daily and weekly demand to optimize labour across the region

  • Oversee facility efforts to optimize routes for pick-up and delivery efficiency and improve route density
  • Manage work force and HR related issues in the region

o Administer HR best practices for hiring, terminations, and performance management

o Support training for all new and existing staff

o Manage headcount to budget and redeploy resources regionally if needed

  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure facilities are well maintained

o Ensure equipment preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to; define PM requirements where required, with support of central resources

o Define and drive continuous improvement plan for each of the facilities in the region

o Manage implementation of special projects (new products, services or equipment related)

o Prepare annual Capex requirements, support project implementation

  • Model and reinforce Gateway’s operational standards and best practices across region

o Ensure policies, standards, procedures and best practices are deployed

o Formally and informally audit facilities to identify and close gaps versus standard

o Maintain facilities in “tour ready” condition

  • When needed, provide general relief at facilities to support vacations, absences or skill gaps
  • Monitor facility customer relations and interactions (intake, viewing and visitations, emergency pick-ups etc.) to ensure they are of the highest quality

o Confidently address any, and all, client concerns as they are escalated from FMs

  • Drive clinic retention activity and clinic relationship management activity in the region
  • Engage with Sales on clinic growth initiatives and new clinic onboarding
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma attainment is ideal; trades, technical, engineering or business administration education preferred
  • Facility Management in similar service industry business model; or Operations Management in light industrial/warehousing environment
  • Multiple site leadership experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory/leadership experience
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to identify key issues and propose practical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and execute activities and small projects
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the business, in the 1-2 year horizon.
