FlowChem, a division of Entegris, is currently hiring for a 1st shift Operations Supervisor to support our Prairie View, Texas operations. This position oversees and manages all operations activities at the facility ensuring safety and operations policies are followed while facilitating communications between customers, supply chain and operations. This position also works with the local community as required.
Essential Job Functions
- Manages operations and staff; interviews, hires, evaluates, and develops direct reports
- Reviews and approves time sheets of employees and other personnel related duties
- Plan, organize, and delegate workloads to safely meet set production schedules while meeting quality requirements and maintaining a clean and safe work enbironment. Monitor and drive continuous improvement for all shifts and site’s key performance metrics. Effectively communicate key information to all shifts and other departments.
- Proposes and implements revisions to procedures or writes new procedures as necessary; develops new workflow processes; selects and audits work instructions for completeness
- Maintains employee training documentation and competencies
- Responsible for products manufactured; production planning; and scheduling of people and resources
- Coordinates production start ups, shut downs, and change overs
- Tracks and reports statistical information for all operations at facility; produces monthly operations reports; reconciles inventory issues
- Reports incidents using required programs; investigates and implements corrective actions
- Manages hazardous waste shipments as needed
- Participates/leads in problem solving and root cause analysis to identify, brainstorm, recommend, and implement corrective action to improve plant productivity, efficiency, safety, and drive continuous improvement
- Ensures safety procedures are being followed and practiced at all times
- Assists with administering operational and capital budgets
- Orders all routine production, housekeeping, safety supplies and personal protective equipment
- Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
- Engage in equipment layout, design, and operating plans for new products and new process technology
- Manages processes and material flow, space management, and works with Engineering to maximize utilization of space designated for specific operations area
- Builds Quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
- Establishes and supports a work environment of continual improvement that supports the company’s policies, systems and the appropriate regulations for the area
- Works with EH&S to identify significant environmental impacts of plant operations and to establish goals and targets around significant environmental impacts
- Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EH&S principles and values; champions safety as necessary
- Works with management on new products and procedures; plans and implements procedures in accordance with customer and Company needs
- Oversees customer complaints regarding facility operations ensuring mutual satisfactory resolution
- Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position
Experience Requirement
- 5 – 10 years experience in production management with supervisory responsibility, chemical industry preferred
- Ability to work 1st shift
- Experience working with Federal, state and local regulatory and environmental agencies; knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Operating knowledge of standard chemical processing equipment and basic chemistry
- Demonstrated knowledge of chemical plant safety, environmental regulations, observation, and troubleshooting skills
- Emergency response experience; response and incident command system knowledge
- Exposure to and knowledge of project implementation and management
- Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
- MS Office Suite and other relevant computer skills
Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred

Work Environment
This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to a plant environment and occasionally outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 100°+ and some exposure to cold of generally no less than -15° in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when in the plant. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to climb up to 50’ in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to travel by air, rail, bus, or car.

Pay: $63,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
