The Optima Solutions Manager is a leader within the Optima Solutions organization of one or more accounts to develop the Optima service strategy and all the standardized and systematic methodologies for the most cost-efficient management of the activities at the teams of those accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make EHS a priority for the entire organization of the account and establish the right procedures with PPG and customer programs and policies in this area including JSA/SOP for all onsite job activities to ensure the safety of the team.

  • New green field OEM plant start-up experience.

  • Familiar with data collection techniques and equipment.

  • Keep Account Receivables up to date for quick payment to PPG.

  • Manage the new launch of Electrocoat tank and water base topcoat.

  • Manage/Support PPG Optima Solutions Representatives at on-site and may be multiple accounts.

  • Establish a sustainable organization for services for your team, driving COSP optimization with a focus on minimizing all costs associated with the delivery of required field technical services.

  • Establish an organization that looks for opportunities to be more efficient in all phases of daily operations and meet the needs for customer support and additional services with the strategy of the account responsible.

  • Work with the PPG Senior Service Manager, Key Account Manager, Cleveland operations, and the Customer higher level management at this site directly providing KPI, reports when applicable, and meetings.

  • Provide leadership in resolving Customer/PPG/Site issues related to PPG Customer Support.

  • Create an environment where PPG is considered the Customer-focused Trusted Supplier.

  • Accountable for all aspects of Secure Launch activities for OEM within the on-site team

  • Ensure adherence with the PPG Way pillars such as Safety, Quality, Business Conduct, Code of Ethics, Responsible Care, Product Stewardship, export control, and Financial Performance standards.

  • Establish the annual goals and associated performance metrics for the defined team, in compliance with the strategy in the account and region.

  • Develop and emphasizes the use of Sigma Logic disciplines, DMAIC, and FMEAs in the management of all technologies during the course of operations within Customer sites.

  • Conduct reviews of all metrics and lead topic-specific programs to identify and eradicate the causes of persistent problems.

  • Assure the deployment of COSP development activities in the team.

  • Promote engagement through the PPG Voice Survey process and plan to improve when needed.

  • Bring absolute adherence to RMT, COSP Dashboard, Secure Launch, CAIR, FOCUS, and any other disciplines in place.

  • Draft PDCA creation including all necessary information for plant launch.

Qualifications:

  • Required travel 5%

  • Engineering degree with 10+ years in a technical setting, or automotive assembly plant start-up experience is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge in Electrocoat, Waterborne Basecoat, Waterborne primer, and Solvent-borne Clearcoat experience preferred but not limited to. Topcoat application experience preferred.

  • Must work around Industrial Chemicals, Solvents, Paints, and Isocyanates in an OEM environment.

  • A valid US driver’s license with no restrictions is vital.

  • Ability to work weekends when needed especially during the launch including non-standard hours to support customer schedules.

  • Computer skills are a must in Microsoft Office functions.
