Job Summary – Doctor Assistant
We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic professional to join our team as part or full-time Doctor Assistant. We provide patients with the absolute best in quality eye care. Our team members greet each patient with a friendly and professional demeanor and convey the confidence, knowledge, and attention to detail that our patients have come to trust. The Doctor Associate is responsible for patient interactions and care from the beginning of inquiry to the very end of their visit. Primarily in the Waterloo office this position would require ability to work in the Independence office on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities & Duties
High Level
- Managing day-to-day patient flow
- Adapting to office flow based on fluctuations
- Always prioritizing and improving patient and team member experience
- Providing feedback on improvement opportunities and assisting with implementation of change
- Emphasizing and growing the sale of contact lenses
- Championing goals specific to those performing reception duties
- Assisting with documentation and updating of processes performed
- Motivating team members in an ever-changing environment
Day-to-Day
- Positively greeting and directing all visitors upon walking through the door
- Quickly and enthusiastically answering phone calls and responding accordingly
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Thoroughly checking patients in and out of appointments
- Responding to patient inquiries in a polite and timely manner
- Processing patient payments
- Investigating patient insurance details
- Walking patients through contact lens purchases
- Keeping a welcoming and safe reception area
- Obtaining preliminary patient histories
- Preparing patients for vision examinations, such as, administering eye drops and seating patients at eye-testing machines
- Explaining the testing process to patients, preparing them, and administering tests on visual capabilities
- Assisting with patient care and eye examinations
- Keeping records and inventory, and taking notes during examinations.
- Educating patient on contact lens options
- Clean and sterilize equipment as necessary
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent customer service required
- Sales experience preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- High comfort level with technology
- Able to juggle tasks in a busy office setting
- Easily adaptable to change
- Open minded
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
