Job Summary and Qualifications

As an OR Assistant, you will provide support services that include but limited to general nursing care and other tasks that support clinical operations of the operating rooms. Examples of some of these tasks would include running errands, transporting patients, prepping, shaving, positioning of patients. You might also be tasked with obtaining special equipment for procedures and perform the cleaning of the operating rooms and surrounding areas.

Tasks and Responsibilities, you will:

• Maintains patient, employee and environmental safety infection control and consistently complies with specified safety practice standards
• Consistently cleans all areas in surgical practice setting in compliance with hospital infection control standards, policies and procedures
• Consistently obtains and arranges correctly, appropriate equipment for surgical procedures by referring to preference cards and communicating with surgical team
• Consistently transports and transfers patient in a correct and safe manner using proper "body mechanics"
• Promotes and expedites OR suite turnovers, to meet turnaround metrics.
• Routinely "logs in" specimens and delivers specimens to correct locations

Position Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
