OR Material Handler Job at Lawrence General Hospital
As a OR Material Handler, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, picking, and distributing supplies to the Operating Room (OR) based upon the daily OR schedule.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain appropriate par levels and daily replenishment requirements for Sterile Processing Department (SPD) supplies, OR sterile core supplies and OR in-suite supplies
- Troubleshoot and recommend remedies for potential supply-related concerns
- Manage Quality Control program to ensure the accurate and complete fulfillment of case cart supply requirements
- Ensure the accurate and timely input of supply replenishment data into the Paragon system for both appropriate supply charging as well as inventory replenishment
- Establish and maintain adequate inventory levels for both perpetual and expense inventories while concurrently establishing and maintaining appropriate inventory turnover targets
- Provide regular input to the OR relative to recommended additions or deletions to specific procedural preference cards
- Participate in receiving, inspecting, and de-casing of OR supplies within Materials Distribution Center (MDC) prior to distribution and restocking in SPD or the OR
- Assist OR Buyer/Purchasing with bill-only, consignment, and capital orders
- Provide exemplary customer service and follow up
- Perform special projects as assigned
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree
- Experience in OR supply picking, replenishment, warehousing and distribution.
