Duties for This Position
Under the direction of the OR Manager, the Surgical Technician assists the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub person who handles the instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures. Maintains constant vigilance for the maintenance of the sterile field. Assists with maintaining equipment, instruments, and inventory. Current position is designed to focus primarily on covering C-Section Call and assisting in Central Processing.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Graduation from accredited school of surgical technology.
Experience
Required Skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to get along with co-workers is critical. Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a demanding environment. Must be able to prioritize and use good judgment while remaining calm during times of crisis. Requires ability to hear and follow instructions. Attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the needs of OR staff is important.
