Job Summary
Marathon TS is looking for an Oracle Application DBA to join a contract with HHS in support of an important mission. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while supporting the agency's migration to the cloud (OCI).

Responsibilities

  • The Applications Database Administrator will clone, patch, and support Oracle applications in a Linux environment.
  • Excel at working under demanding project timelines, while producing high quality work.
  • Perform backup and recovery of Oracle 19c and 12c databases using both RMAN and user managed methods.
  • Perform performance tuning of Oracle database and PeopleSoft applications.
  • Perform installations and upgrades of Oracle database software.
  • Perform Oracle R12 test instance refreshes (Oracle Apps cloning procedures) from production backups.
  • Work with Oracle Support for system issues that require product support. Log service cases and follow up for resolution as required.
  • Work with the onshore DBA to manage and maintain the application suite.
  • Work with business resources to assist with system issues or walk them through product issues.
  • Maintain, support and upgrade enterprise level relational database management systems (RDBMS) and related software. Resolve highly complex, advanced Oracle applications and database issues.
  • Design, develop, and maintain highly available databases and web application servers both on-premises and in the Cloud.
  • Responsible for maintaining secure, scalable database design, security and performance optimization, backup and recovery strategies and implementation, as well as monitoring the overall health of the database environment.
  • Responsible for daily change management and technical infrastructure maintenance and support.
  • Plan and implement pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
  • Develop, integrate and maintain secure connectivity with third party vendors between various on-prem to cloud environments.
  • Support, patch and maintain applications and database environments.
  • Build, configure, secure and enhance Oracle and PeopleSoft PIA server environments.
  • Install, configure and maintain highly-available and secure application environments using current web and app server technologies (load balancing and clustering methods).
  • Provide on-going application patching, environment refreshes and technical support.
  • Participate in performance loading testing, tuning and improving operational processes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area.
  • Work experience in database design and administration is necessary.
  • 8+ years in an enterprise computing environment of comparable complexity,
  • 5+ years of directly related full-time experience in administrating PeopleSoft / Oracle applications.
  • Experience managing specific technologies of java and tomcat.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 5-8+ years' experience in Oracle R12 with at least 3 years of work experience in Oracle R12 12.2 x version (12.2.8 12.2.9 or 12.2.10 etc. ) on the Linux platform.
  • Must be very hands-on in using Oracle R12 tools such as adop (online patching tool), adadmin (AD administration tool) etc.
  • A minimum of 7 years work experience in Oracle database administration (11g R2/12c R1/19c).
  • Must be very hands-on in Oracle database backup and recovery, database restores and duplication using RMAN tool.
  • Ability to perform Oracle database tuning (both SQL tuning and overall database tuning).
  • Intermediate level experience in Oracle PL/SQL database programming.
  • Intermediate level experience in Linux shell scripting.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Oracle Applications DBAwork.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional team members belonging to IT Infrastructure, Information Security, Network, Storage etc. in articulating and convincing Oracle requirements.

  • Must have Oracle DBA skills (Oracle 19c or higher)
  • Setup and management of Oracle data guard. GC, MySQL and or MongoDB experience.
  • PeopleSoft 9+ DBA skills desired, but not mandatory.
  • Skilled in install/setup, management of highly available application environments.
  • Experienced on Middleware with Tuxedo 12c+, Apache, Tomcat and fusion middleware.
  • Proven experience in Apache and Weblogic servers. SSL, PKI, keytool, etc.
  • UNIX SQL scripting automation is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in support of large database applications/systems including performance analysis and tuning of high volume, transaction systems.
  • Cloud AWS/GCS implementation and support experience is a plus.
  • Desire to grow in knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD and Cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows systems platform.
  • Experience in basic Linux shell scripting is a plus.

Pay: $98,114.00 - $115,000.00 per year
