Job Highlights

The Sales Representative is mainly responsible for new business acquisition while maintaining leveraging customer relationships within a book of business in the NJ Market. This opportunity requires a dynamic sales professional with the ability to cross sell across a diverse customer base and vertically integrate Interstate Waste service into high value, complex accounts. This position will report to the NJ Director of Sales based out of our Paterson, NJ office.

Total compensation for this position ranges between $55,000-$110,000+ with a base salary and uncapped commission structure. This position will also receive a company phone, laptop, car allowance, and E-ZPass.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage existing business relationships in order to achieve sales goals by developing and implementing sound retention strategies, utilizing strong negotiation efforts to preserve business, and secure contract agreements
  • Increase revenue and profitability by executing efficient plans on retention to improve the customer’s service and/or profitability
  • Prepare sales proposals and make recommendations on equipment as seen fit
  • Update and secure customer service agreements and ensure that customers have current signed written agreements on file
  • Respond to all increases and decreases in service, change of ownership and other miscellaneous service changes that affect revenue
  • Effectively negotiate with all customers to retain relationships and associated revenue during pricing initiatives

Work Environment

  • The Sales position will be based in our Paterson, NJ location, however most of the job duties require traveling throughout the five boroughs. The successful candidate will thrive in an independent, entrepreneurial environment.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school/GED education completed.
  • Minimum one year outside sales experience.
  • Must have geographic knowledge of the five boroughs.
  • Must have advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Fluency in English required, Spanish is a plus.
  • Must work well in team environment as well as use independent discretion when carrying out sales agreements and relationships
  • Driver’s license is required

Preferred Requirements

· 4 year degree from an accredited institution.

· 3+ years outside sales experience.0
