Overland Beltman Job at Tunnel Ridge Coal Mine
The essential functionsof this position are:
1. Perform all required pre-operational checks before operating equipment
2. Don self-rescuer in emergency situation and walk out of the mine
3. Hang and handle power cables
4. Have experience in building belt drives and transfers
5. Shovel and cleanup spillage
6. Load and unload supplies and handle materials
7. Mine drainage including pumping and ditching
8. Watch out for the safety of self and co-workers
9. Identify belt rollers and belt structure that need to be replaced
10. Replace rollers with or without help
11. Lock and tag conveyor as necessary
12. Grease belt and drive rollers as necessary
13. Operate belts manually
14.Install and remove guarding as necessary
15. Operate come a longs and chain falls
16. Grease fittings on rollers and belt drives
17. Operate torches and be able to weld
18. Must be able to make a mechanical splice
The marginal activities of this position are:
1. Operate mining equipment consistent with task training and operational necessities of the mine
2. Assist in maintenance activities consistent with training and the needs of the mine
3. Perform any other assigned tasks for which he or she is qualified by virtue of training or experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $34.77 per hour
