What this role is all about:
We are looking for a Packaging Engineer in Appleton, WI.
The Packaging Engineer - Packaging will create and oversee specifications, lead re-engineering efforts and bridge corporate and plant locations by project managing sourcing event and supplier/SKU implementations.

Create, formalize and oversee technical documentation and specifications for packaging category.

Collaborate with plants and Procurement to ensure plant technical requirements and specifications are understood and accurately included in sourcing events and negotiations as well as in secured supply risk management activities.

Provide technical support to internal teams on projects impacting packaging (quality issues, change of specifications, plant trials etc.).

Collaboratively lead US re-engineering activities and participate in the development of new global packaging.

Propose packaging reformulations to reduce costs and carry out case studies related to these projects as well as utilize continuous improvement tools (problem solving, troubleshooting, root cause analyses etc.).

Partner with Quality to perform technical audits of packaging suppliers and SKUs.

Participate in the identification of suppliers and assist with streamlining the process for approving new suppliers, new SKUs, plant trials and supplier on-boarding.

Manage and support the implementation of sourcing events and reformulation projects for the packaging category, while avoiding unnecessary disruptions to the business, with internal stakeholders (including Quality, Operations, Engineering, R&D and Sales) and external suppliers.
What you need:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.

Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

5-8 years of related engineering or manufacturing experience required.

Knowledge of supply chain or procurement preferred.

Experience in packaging or dairy/food preferred.
