ACCEL Schools is hiring a Paraprofessional at Inkster Preparatory Academy located in Inkster, MI that will assist and support the teacher with daily classroom activities. Founded in 2014, ACCEL Schools is a K-12 public charter school management organization (CMO) across the United States. We manage a network of over 50 charter schools within Ohio and surrounding states. Inkster Preparatory Academy is a tuition-free, community elementary and middle school serving the Inkster, Dearborn Heights, Garden City, and Wayne communities and has been recognized as a Model School by the International Center for Leadership in Education. Inkster Prep promotes a STEM-focused curriculum allowing students to expand their knowledge and creativity. In addition to an accredited, college prep curriculum, students benefit from activities and extracurriculars such as Basketball, Soccer, Cheerleading, Mandarin, and Spanish.

Responsibilities:

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher for individual students or groups of students
• Follows instructional plans as assigned by the teacher
• Helps plan classroom activities as directed by the teacher
• Contributes to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards
• Assists the Teacher in the use of classroom technology
• Flexibility to assist with field trips, morning duty, dismissal duty, and lunch duty as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred
• Current and active Instructional Aide licensure, or able to obtain license
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI check
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines
• Able to manage confidential information
• High quality written and verbal communication skills
• Previous work experience working with youth or in a school setting desired
