Parent Coach Job at Aspire Health Partners
As a Certified Parent Coach with Aspire Health Partners your job purpose will be to provide a multitude of essential functions to include - but not be limited to –
- Help parents/caregivers gain the knowledge and skills required to raise emotional and psychological healthy children. This position will provide active, hands-on peer support to parents/caregivers of the youth who is receiving CAT Team services. Effective peer support should be friendly, helpful, accessible and flexible. Peer support may be delivered in an individual or group settings at the CAT Team office, in the family homes or in the community.
- Establish positive relationships with the families from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Conduct parenting classes, where they will teach the parents how to deal with the daily responsibility of maintaining a positive home environment that's beneficial to the family.
- Facilitate parenting discussion and/or support groups to aide in parents feeling more supported.
- Offer one-on-one support and assistance with the parents regarding parenting specific issues.
- Assist the parents with improving their relationships with their children through effective discipline, positive rewards and overall effective communication between the youths and parents.
- Promote positive parent-child interactions by promoting mastery of the skills and a positive parenting change.
- Teach coping skills and strategies to the parents to aide in parenting when it escalates or when mental health conditions are present in multiple levels of the family.
- Coordinate monthly social outing with the parents and/or their families to foster positive parenting in different settings.
- Provide transportation to the social outing for the parents and/or their families, if necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation regarding home visits, social outings, and class attendance of the participants.
Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
- Level II Background clearance
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver's license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire's insurance company as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1
- High School Diploma
- State of Florida Parent Coach Certification
