Summary of Position:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for transporting product to and from destinations in a friendly, efficient and professional manner, using safe driving practices. He or she will also be responsible for maintaining the vehicle activity, maintenance, and temperature logs.

  Transports product to and from destination in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner using safe driving practices.

• 
  Loads product into the truck and from the truck in a safe manner.

• 
  Maintains proper refrigeration in the truck at all times.

• 
  Performs vehicle inspections on a daily basis for passenger and driver safety and to insure the vehicle is operating in accordance to the operator’s manual.

  Follows all applicable motor vehicle laws and regulations at all-times.

• 
  Monitors maintenance records to ensure properly-functioning vehicles and arranges for general maintenance and repairs as necessary.

  Follows all company standards regarding the use of company transportation.

• 
  Records all necessary daily trip information in appropriate written and electronic locations.

• 
  Maintains a proper driver’s license and insurance to operate a motor vehicle.

• 
  Supports purchasing and receiving with inventory and other tasks as needed.

Supervision Received:

This position reports to the Commissary Chef at Pasta Vita.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to handle difficult situations and individuals
• Strong demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
• First Aid & CPR certifications recommended (will train)
• Familiarity with computers; ability to maintain written/computer records and logs

Education, Experience, and Training:

• Selected candidate must successfully complete a motor vehicle background check
• Six (6) months of previous driving experience in the transportation industry
• Valid driver’s license with Public Service Endorsement and must be insurable through the company carrier.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist passengers in and out of vehicles

REQUIREMENTS

Pasta Vita began in 1996 as a wholesale pasta company in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Co-founded by Rich Cersosimo, a retired IBM marketing manager, and Lou Castanho, a distinguished chef and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Pasta Vita is Connecticut’s leading Gourmet-to-Go retail business. In April 2015, Mohegan Holding Company entered into a multi-unit agreement with Pasta Vita to open franchise locations throughout New England. In August of the same year, the first franchise location opened inside Mohegan Sun with several more in development. The Mohegan Sun location features over 100 of Pasta Vita’s freshly prepared entrees, salads, soups, sauces, breads, vegetarian options, desserts and their famous specialty-striped ravioli.
