Patient Registration Coordinator Job at WebMed Mental Health Services
WebMed Mental Health is looking for a motivated, reliable, and independent Patient Registration Coordinator to greet patients and facilitate the patient registration flow at our clinic in Cloquet.
WebMed provides outpatient psychiatric and substance use disorder services to a diverse client population in Duluth and Cloquet. Come join our team! We offer a comprehensive benefit package and a Monday through Friday clinic schedule.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Patient Care
- Welcome patients and visitors to the clinic by greeting them and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members
- Schedule appointments for the providers to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of examining and treatment rooms. Prepare a daily schedule of appointments for each provider
- Collect, input, and verify all patient demographic information at time of their appointment
- Obtain patient blood pressure, pulse, and weight
- Obtain necessary signatures, collateral data, and information requested by providers
- Scan in documentation to patient charts
- Perform collection of specimens from patients as delegated, and send those items to the appropriate recipient
- Assist providers, therapists, and counselors with day to day operations
- Answer phone calls and process paperwork
- Assist counselors with client charting and maintenance
- Assist ill or distraught patients as necessary
- Maintain reception area in a neat and orderly condition
- Open and sort office mail; prepare outgoing mail for pickup
- Participate in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summon ambulance or EMS or assist other staff members as needed
Team Work
- Assist other departments and offer support to staff
- Actively participate in staff meetings and task groups
- Maintain professional appearance
- Maintain positive, professional relationships and use appropriate verbal, non-verbal and written communication with all individuals
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Customer service skills to deal with the public and assist ill or distraught patients
- Basic office skills such as typing, scanning, and faxing
- Good organizational skills
- Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with multidisciplinary staff
Minimum Qualifications:
- Commitment to high quality client care required
- Patient care experience preferred; behavioral health experience is a plus
- Must be 18 years of age, able to pass MN Dept. of Human Services Background check.
- In accordance with Minnesota Rules 245G.11 subdivision 1; all employees must be free of chemical use problems for at least one year immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact. Chemical use problems are defined as: receiving treatment for substance use within the period specified for the position in the staff qualification requirements, including medication-assisted treatment; substance use or mental health disorders that have negatively impacted the staff member’s job performance; substance use or mental health disorders that affect the credibility of treatment services with clients, referral sources, or other members of the community; and symptoms of intoxication or withdrawal on the job.
Minimum Education:
- High school degree or Equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
