PAYROLL ASSOCIATE
Location: San Francisco and Los Angeles
Reports to: Accounting and Payroll Operations Manager
Exempt classification: Non-Exempt
Status: Full time
Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll Associate position is responsible, under the guidance of the Finance Operations Manager for the semi-monthly payroll process and the coordination of personnel documentation between payroll and HR. This position provides support and assistance on timesheets and the ADP platform to employees across the organization.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position will report directly to the Accounting and Payroll Operations Manager and will collaborate with other accounting and finance staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the semi-monthly payroll process using ADP Workforce Now including monitoring timesheet entries and approvals
- Add new company local and state payroll tax jurisdictions
- Maintain employee allocations in ADP
- Payroll reports and coordinate schedules with auditors
- Monitor commuter-reloads and perform appropriate payroll pre-tax/post-tax deductions
- Collaborate with HR staff and managers to resolve any payroll issues or discrepancies
- Maintain payroll information and supporting documentation in appropriate and secure confidential files
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll, and other LIIF monthly closing payroll related processes
- Prepare reconciliations for payroll related accounts including 401(k), transit benefits, health savings account, Flexible Spending Account, and other accounts in assigned area
- Prepare documentations and work with auditor for annual Workers Comp audit
- Prepare payroll reconciliations, documentation, and reports for annual external audit
- Provide wages and personnel reports to FP&A for budgeting and as requested by appropriate ECE program staff
- Respond to employees’ payroll questions timely and accurately. Able to analyze and report on specific calculations as required to resolve problems.
- Create, run and post reports in ADP for various stakeholders.
- Assist with Audits (internal and external).
Other Functions:
- Perform other duties/special projects as assigned
- The Payroll Associate may perform other duties as necessary to support the Finance team
- Ad Hoc reports and inquiries
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with ADP Work Force and Abila MIP system is preferred.
- Strong experience with Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
- High attention to accuracy and details
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Ability to review and self-check work for accuracy and completeness
- High degree of customer service
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Must be proactive and work independently
EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's Degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required. This position requires a minimum of two of experience in Payroll entry data and other entry level accounting entries. The position is demanding and requires self-motivation and a team approach. Individual will be committed to LIIF’s mission.
