Payroll Technician Job at City of Riviera Beach
Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to maintain and process payroll records and report accounting of salary/wages, accruals, deductions and other payroll functions. Works extensively with all department timekeepers and provides support with specific responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of preliminary and final payroll production.
This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent and specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one (1) year of college.
Requires one year of experience in payroll processing, human resources, and accounting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Performance Civil Service Examinations required. All examinations are held during regular business hours. This position requires successful passing of a background check and drug screening.
