PCB Librarian (ECAD) (Hybrid Work Schedule)
Position Summary:
This position requires a thorough understanding of the library creation and support of schematic symbols, component footprints and mechanical design as it relates to the OrCAD CIP database library workflow. Knowledge of fabrication, and assembly of printed circuit boards is desired.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all phases of creation and management of the OrCAD CIP ECAD library under the supervision of the Electrical Design Lead. Creation of the PCB footprint and symbols using the OrCAD CIP/CIS software, and MCAD models using Creo 4.0.
- Standardize parts library
- This effort will need to be closely coordinated with the Component Engineer and some with the M-CAD Dept
- Ensure parts are properly defined in the CIP E-CAD library
- Ensure proper library parts are used, and that the parts are used properly within the CIP E-CAD database
- Consolidate parts (eliminate duplicate / similar parts)
- Ensure proper interfacing with MCAD
- Collaborate with electrical, components, manufacturing and other engineering disciplines in the development of CIP ECAD library parts.
Qualification/Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Associates degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Technology, 3 to 10 Years Industry Experience as an ECAD Schematic/PCB Librarian using OrCAD CIP/CIS, Cadence/OrCAD PCB Layout Pro, Creo 4.0, Windchill or comparable tools is required.
- Highly computer literate with OrCAD CIP/CIS, MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
- Familiar with best commercial practices (including IPC class II & III) for circuit board design and manufacturing.
- Experience generating and maintaining parts libraries for both schematic capture and board layout.
- Understanding of industry and IPC standards for PCB Design & Library structure.
- Ability to understand component data sheets.
- Understanding of Electrical and mechanical engineering design practices.
- Requires good communications skills and excellent organization and coordination skills.
- Must be a US Citizen
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
- Days and hours of work are 9 hours/day (Monday through Thursday), 4 hours (Friday). Overtime and weekend could be required as job duties demand.
- Work from home Monday & Friday
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
- The employee is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
