At Seacoast Mental Health Center, we provide hope and promote recovery for children, adolescences, adults and their families in the Eastern half of Rockingham county. The rising demand for mental health and substance use disorder services offers immediate employment opportunities.The position requires an Associate's degree in psychology/social work with a preference of 1-2 years prior experience and a current certification in peer support. Peer Specialist should demonstrate a good understanding of assisting those who are in crisis and experiencing suicidal thoughts/ideation, human behavior, mental illness, psychiatric rehabilitation, treatment, recovery, family systems and the social, rehabilitation and health care systems, through their own recovery process. The Peer Specialist must also demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Experience and education requirements may be waived, in a certain instance, as defined in state rules. The Peer Specialist must hold a valid driver's license and be able to demonstrate a "clean" driving record. CPR/First Aid Training is recommended.
