MSA - The Safety Company is looking for a People Experience Advisor (Human Resources Business Partner) to provide HR oversight and strategic direction for its Murrysville, PA location.
People Operations is based on the simple truth: to hold on to your talent, you must understand and “take care” of your talent. It is a strategic business function that focuses on putting the employee first by continuously improving employee engagement, development, and retention.
The People Operations Advisor is expected to be the “eyes and ears” of the global HR organization, acting as an internal consultant to facilitate and influence change programs and people initiatives across multiple functions for the assigned location(s). In addition, by leveraging business insights and strong stakeholder relationships, the People Operations Advisor will make recommendations to enhance the overall people experience delivery.
This role will be accountable for delivering a standardized, efficient service for the Employee Life Cycle, as well as processes and initiatives to support the delivery of the HR strategy. The Employee Life Cycle includes the “moments that matter” in the employee journey at our organization. This includes moments such as:
Key Responsibilities:
- Influence and provide best practice solutions to people managers to deliver against functional plans and support initiatives aligned to the people strategy.
- Work closely with Business Advisors and other specialist areas within the People Services team to ensure resources are in place to execute plans successfully,
- Coach and advise managers, providing robust challenges through all elements of the People’s lifecycle. Develop skills, knowledge, and confidence to encourage and affect the necessary change to deliver the desired business outcomes.
- Lead change, ensuring people-related work streams are delivered on broader projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with specialist areas within the global HR team to affect mutual understanding of critical people deliverables and processes.
- Analyze People Metrics to monitor and proactively manage people-related key performance indicators, and define strategies to improve people engagement (e.g., sickness, attrition, ER case management, etc.). Share findings and recommendations to business stakeholders to support future planning.

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement with a high degree of initiative.- Proven track record of developing, driving, and delivering against implementation plans.
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

- Experience in facilitating and influencing decision-making.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build valuable stakeholder relationships.
- Commercially savvy and able to demonstrate the same in day-to-day activities.
- Proven generalist HR experience in a complex and agile environment.
- Ability to travel up to 15-25% of the time to other MSA locations.
Education and experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field; four years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
- 8 or more years HR related experience
- Previous union experience
Education and experience preferred:
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
- Knowledge of SAP or other HRIS systems
- HR experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in safety, benefits and other HR functions
- Master's degree in HR, business or related field
