The Substitute Teacher is a qualified professional educator who meets the requirements to substitute teach in a Catholic School of the Diocese of Orlando.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include:
- Substitute Teachers must maintain a safe, orderly and secure learning and working environment.
- Substitute Teachers are to report to campus by 7:30am and to stay on campus until all students in their care have been dismissed.
- Substitutes may be required to substitute for multiple teachers/classrooms during the school day or they may be assigned to one teacher’s classroom.
- Employee will be given the room key, a Chromebook or laptop, and a Substitute Binder to review with the administrator.
- Employee is never to leave the class unattended. Should you need assistance you may reach the Front Office by phone or emailing administration (details provided upon hiring)
- Employee is to take attendance and enter it into the computer.
- Employee must follow the plans provided by the teacher in their Substitute Binder or create plans using the Pacing Guides given to them by administration. The expectation is that instruction will continue to benefit the students.
- Substitutes are expected to maintain discipline by constant supervision of students. Please do not just sit at the desk.
- Cell phones are not permitted during your work hours.
- Employee will have their lunch time during the free period in the teachers’ schedule.
- Employee is expected to dress conservatively and professionally.
- Substitutes must wear their identification badges at all times when working on campus. In the absence of the need for a substitute teacher, employee may be required to assist in the front office with general responsibilities: filing, folding uniforms, or answering the phone.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Compliance with Diocesan FBI fingerprint clearance and compliance with Safe Environment training requirements.
- Recommended that the substitute teacher have a Bachelor’s degree.
- Recommended that the substitute teacher have teaching experience.
