Position Overview

The Permitter II is responsible for the application and tracking of permits required for the performance of FTTH works.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Understanding of typical right-of-way usage permitting requirements
• Ability and know-how to investigate market specific right-of-way permitting requirements to support fiber network engineering projects.
• Understanding of local existing utility infrastructure data, and the know-how to acquire such data in various U.S. markets
• Creation of any necessary pieces of information that cannot be acquired
• Create permit application packages to meet the specific requirements of local permitting authorities as well as project-specific requirements
• Manage, maintain, retrieve and organize permit data electronically
• All other projects or duties as assigned

Requirements

• 3+ yr of telecommunications and fiber network experience required
• 1+ year of experience using the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software; AutoCAD software experience is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects, coupled with experience in a fast-paced engineering and production environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
• Flexibility to work shift differential hours
• High integrity and work ethic
• Valid form of identification required
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• May experience long hours of standing and moving
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
