Personal Injury Attorney Requirements:

  • You are actively licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • First-chair or second-chair trial experience is required, preferably representing plaintiffs. About 15% of our cases go to trial.
  • You independently manage serious personal injury client files from intake to conclusion and bring successful outcomes, including several years of experience handling depositions, arbitrations, hearings, and mediations.
  • You write detailed demand letters and can produce a writing sample.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide solutions to complex legal questions - you have excellent references!
  • You cultivate long-lasting professional client relationships and actively network within your community to generate new client leads.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thought process - you are solution-oriented.
  • Passionate about engaging in oral and written advocacy.
  • Able to recognize the urgency of situations and determine appropriately actionable remedies.
  • Shows pride in work product with solid attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, ethical, and reliable to the firm & its clients.
  • Build favorable & professional rapport with clients, opposing parties and counsel, third parties, medical professionals, & court personnel.
  • Team player with the capability to work independently - you can delegate and follow up with accountability.
  • Ambitious & driven with a strong growth mindset.

Personal Injury Attorney Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, conduct, and review discovery - you independently handle your case files with the assistance of a trained legal support team.
  • Take and defend depositions, effectively work with investigators to take statements and gather evidence, negotiate maximized settlements, including all aspects of liability and damages, and review demands with clients.
  • Review and manage disbursement statements, subrogation, claims, liens, and other third-party interests.
  • Build client PI cases, verifying that all client injuries, damages, and other losses are documented and presented for maximum recovery.
  • Research and analyze PI case-specific legal issues and documentation (e.g., insurance policies, lien language, settlement releases, disputed legal claims).
  • Contemporaneously track and record time worked on matters in the firm CRM - we use Needles.
  • Document and annotate all phone calls, emails, tasks, memorandums, and other records within the firm's CRM to ensure accurate documentation and storage of the client file and timely case closing.
