Halcyon Underwriters is an established and ever-growing National Wholesaler/Broker who has developed an opportunity for a highly motivated Personal Lines Assistant Underwriter for its Maitland, FL office. We are a merit-based company where hard work and performance is recognized & rewarded. High performers for this position tend to be fast paced, analytical, intuitive, detail orientated and possess generally good business instincts & critical thinking skills.

What You'll Do

• Underwriting and rating of new high valued homeowners, personal auto, personal umbrella, and dwelling policy submissions
• Servicing existing renewals, surplus lines review, following up for underwriting information
• Setting up new business submission files, issuing policies and endorsements, invoicing policies, policy disbursement, audit reviews.
• Maintaining quality control guidelines and meeting requirements for licensing
• Carrier rating
• Building key relationships with both retail & carrier partners while supporting the Production Underwriter

What You'll Need

• Holds an active state insurance license 4-40
• At least two years of Personal Lines Insurance experience
• Carrier rating experience
• Highly supportive of the Sales & Production process
• Strong PC skills including Word & Excel
• Must be detail-oriented and possess the ability to multi-task
• Ability to work well with others in a production team environment
• Committed to excellent customer service
