- Experience: Previous experience working in a pharmacy or other service-related job preferred.
- Education: High school diploma/GED.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic knowledge of pharmacy field and industry terms and processes. Ability to work in an environment requiring a high degree of attention to detail and confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills.
- Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Current WA State Pharmacy Assistant License.
The Pharmacy Technician assists in performing manipulative, nondiscretionary functions associated with the practice of pharmacy under the immediate supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist. Additionally, the person in this position is enrolled in Astria Sunnyside Pharmacy’s Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission approved Technician training program and is actively progressing in the towards completion.
The work is performed in a hospital pharmacy setting. Requires ability to stand, walk, reach, sit, crouch and stoop for extended periods of time. Requires good motor coordination with good manual and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to communicate with staff and patients of all ages. Must be able to operate standard office equipment and computer programs regularly used at Astria Sunnyside Hospital and in the pharmacy department. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Strength and agility to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
