Under general supervision, employee is responsible for performing motor, physical, or occupational therapy for children in the Rural Infant Services Program. Employee is responsible for assessing normal and abnormal motor, sensory, neural, and musculoskeletal growth and development of infants and toddlers with, or at risk for, developmental delays. Employee is responsible for providing direct service to children and training caregivers in therapeutic techniques and exercises within their natural environment, such as their home, day care setting, etc. Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, children, families, public, and service providers.
Employee must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Motor, Physical, or Occupational Therapy and minimum of 1-2 years experience in provision of pediatric motor, physical or occupational therapy, with certification in Virginia Part C. Master’s Degree in any of the three Therapies preferred.
Must possess Virginia Licensure as a Motor, Physical, or Occupational Therapist. Must possess a Valid Virginia Driver’s License, with acceptable driving record. Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results by first day of employment, and yearly thereafter as required by licensing authority. Must possess certification in First Aid and Child and Infant CPR.
