We're seeking a licensed Physician to work two -3 days a week at the Gary Job Corps Center located in San Marcos, TX. Days are flexible and you will be surrounded by a passionate and experienced staff.

Qualifications:

• Active physician license in the state of Texas to practice in General Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.

The services to be provided to students include, but will not be limited to:

• Perform the required definitive medical examinations of Center enrollees.
• Advise and treat Center enrollees who have been given medical appointments to see the Center Physician and be available on center for routine scheduled sick calls.
• Admit, treat, and discharge Wellness Center patients.
• Prescribe medication for center enrollees.
• Make recommendations for appropriate off-center referrals for specialist and institutional care.
• Authorize hospitalization for appropriate medical treatment when necessary.
• Make recommendations for medical terminations and MSWR's.
• Supervise the quality and appropriateness of medical care as provided by the nursing staff and laboratory personnel through direct instructions and recommendations to the Wellness Administrator. Consult with the Inter Disciplinary Team (IDT) concerning disabled students and their accommodation needs.
• The Center Physician shall provide current signed and dated Health Care Guidelines, which shall be kept in the Center Health Services Department, indicating the care, and procedures which shall be carried out by the Center health personnel. These orders shall include at least guidance concerning emergency procedures which can be performed by non-physician personnel, for commonly encountered health conditions, and administrative procedures.
• The Center Physician shall provide a set of written Health Care Guidelines for the guidance of non-health personnel when dealing with health emergencies and minor illnesses when Center Wellness Staff members are not on duty.
• The Center Physician will provide on-call coverage to the Wellness personnel and make available to Center personnel knowledge and expertise as it may be requested in the areas of health.
• The Center Physician agrees to be the dispensing physician to satisfy Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
