Role

The Plant Technician will be tasked with supporting Lithium Nevada s efforts in building and operating an integrated continuous pilot plant. You will act as an operator/technician to run and troubleshoot pilot scale equipment relevant to lithium mineral processing. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, crushers and pulverizers, classification equipment, heated and stirred reaction vessels, crystallizers, solid/liquid separators (filters, thickeners), and ion exchange columns A major aspect of the role is the ability to operate and troubleshoot pieces of equipment in real time. The successful candidate will possess a strong desire to learn and be part of a flexible team, where priorities and procedures may change frequently.

The position will be based in Reno, Nevada. The typical schedule will be Monday-Friday, although, a rotating schedule, including nights, will be required as necessary.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the team, we would look to you to deliver on the following:

  • Run and troubleshoot a continuous pilot plant that includes key unit operations in a clay extraction process.
  • Act as a critical team member on an operations crew.
  • Take samples frequently and prepare them for handoff to the analytical laboratory.
  • Cross-train and provide analytical assistance to the laboratory if needed.
  • Take notes/record data throughout operations.
  • Be comfortable with general tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) and assembly/disassembly of equipment.
  • Solve problems and contribute ideas to improve the process equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in science, engineering or relevant experience in a process plant or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Ability to take initiative and/or work independently.
  • Ability to lift/move objects of 50lbs.
