We have an immediate need for 1st shift (currently 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday) pipe fitters. THERE IS NO PER DIEM PAID FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY. This could become a permanent role for the right candidate. Company policy requires all candidates have a valid driver's license, clean criminal history and pass a pre-employment drug screening. Additional information below:

All pipe fitters are required to pass a visual weld test for tacking purposes. Weld test: 2” schedule 80 carbon steel coupon welded in the 6G fixed position using GTAW process with ER70S-6 filler metal. Candidates will be required to prep, clean, tack-up, and weld-out. The coupon shall be fit-up as a standard single V-groove, open butt joint. All welding progression shall be in the vertical uphill direction with all parameters kept within the limits of the provided company standard welding procedure. You’ll be monitored for compliance throughout the duration of the qualification test. Test must be completed within two hours. The completed coupon shall be visually examined for acceptance in accordance with ASME Section IX. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO PASS X-RAY OR BEND TEST.

Duration: four to six month, there is a potential to bring someone on permanently if they are a good fit

Summary

A Pipe Fabricator must be able to fit process pipe and jacketed pipe ranging from schedule 10 through schedule 160 efficiently in carbon steel and stainless steel. Spools built must match spool drawings and be within required tolerance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Must be able to read and interpret shop fabrication drawings to fabricate pipe spool

· Must be able to operate all basic hand tools and shop equipment

· Work in a safe and productive manner without supervision

· Maintain a clean work environment

· Must be able to interact and work with other welders and fitters

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's in both fractions and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be trained on use of overhead crane to move heavy/large pieces of material. Must be proficient in rigging and moving large pieces of pipe safely.
