General Summary

Performs duties related to plant machinery, equipment and facility maintenance including changing screens, metal fabrication work, replacing bearings, splicing belts, and operating some equipment.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)

• Responsible for performing work that relates to machines, motor and equipment regulation, repair, lubrication, maintenance, dismantling, overhauling, installation and modification of machines, mechanical equipment, motors, water including valves, pumps, motors, and gauges.
• Inspects, cleans, and adjusts all systems and operating equipment daily.
• Splice s conveyor belts, changes rollers, and replaces pulleys as needed.
• Services and repairs crushers.
• Maintains proper equipment lubrication and fuel levels daily.
• Repairs, rebuilds, and maintains any plant equipment as necessary, which may include plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical.
• Diagnosis failures and malfunctions that may involve mechanical knowledge.
• Performs preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment daily.
• Maintains documentation and ensures all necessary documentation remains up to date.
• Responsible for completing area audits.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a safe and clean condition at all times.
• Responsible to abide by and support all company and plant safety policies, rules and procedures as well as M.S.H.A regulations.

Educational Skills and Experience

• GED or High School Diploma Required.
• One to two years continuing education at a trade school or university studying mechanics preferred.
• Minimum of two years prior maintenance experience in an aggregate plant environment is required.
• Must possess experience and knowledge of plant mechanical systems.
• Must possess extensive knowledge in mechanical applications.

• Ability to work in a physically challenging and stressful environment; to take direction from supervisor and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed and technical written and verbal instructions and communicate clearly.
• Ability to abide by company safety policies and procedures and to work safely within a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to occasionally travel (including overnight) up to one (1) week at a time.
