American Alloy Steel, Inc is currently searching for a enthusiastic team player to fill the open position of an Plasma Burner in our Houston, TX Corporate office!

Roles and Responsibilities:

In this role you will set up and operate plasma burn table machinery that automatically cuts steel plate.

• Identification of material thickness, grade, heat, slab & mill matches shop order.
• Review plate assignment against inventory in computer.
• Troubleshoot and correct faulty programming, or machine issues.
• Make general decisions as to quality, tolerances and operation sequence.
• Follow all safety rules and practices. Will be required to attend safety meetings and initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for transferring markings from plate to product for trace-ability
• Inspect final quality and dimensional size of the cut

Required Qualifications:

• Must be able to work Monday thru Friday
• Be available for overtime or weekend duty that may become available
• Plasma knowledge in order to make adjustments for materials used
• Knowledge of degrees of angles
• Proficient reading tape measures
• Understand Math, Fractions, and Decimals
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
• Serves as a team member
• Proficient at reading/interpreting blueprints and/or drawings
• Typically has 1-2 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of steel grades
• Previous Experience cutting and beveling steel plate
