Job Summary / Purpose
Golden Pass LNG, a joint venture of QatarEnergy & ExxonMobil, has an exciting opportunity for Maintenance Technicians at our Sabine Pass, TX location (approximately 10 minutes from Port Arthur, TX). We are looking for team members that have a proven track record of providing support, have strong intrapersonal and communication skills, and are self-motivated and self-directed to be a part of our transformation from an import facility to the premier LNG exporter in North America.
The PLC/DCS Technician will be responsible for performing operation and plant monitoring through DCS operation. The DCS Technician will also maintain and service the plant control system, lead plant and start up and shutdown activities through DCS and support all aspects of Plant Operations as it pertains to the DCS. This person will provide reports on DCS statistics and will be responsible for registering and managing of overrides/inhibits of the safety system.
Essential Duties / Functions
- Maintain the production environment Industrial Control and Safety Systems and ensure their operability and reliability remains continuous for Plant Operation.
- Ensure systems hardware and software remain current with updates, patches, hotfixes, cyber security standards, and general performance.
- Support Operations and Maintenance efforts through engagement of DCS Operations.
- Maintain and control plant operations within safe operating limits through DCS operations.
- To provide shift reports and it supporting information based on DCS data and registering of override/inhibit of safety system.
- Responsible for off shift and night call out duties
- Comply with Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Management Processes (WMS).
- Read, Interpret and Comprehend Manuals, Policies, Engineering Standards, Regulations, Instrument Drawings, and Schematics/Diagrams, including Electrical, Pneumatic and PIDs.
- Troubleshooting Hardware and Software Related Issues involving ICSS and Networking Equipment.
- Recording and Documenting Changes or Discrepancies Identified in Control Schemes, Company Documentation or Application Databases through a Facility MOC Process
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor or Associate degree or relevant technical discipline or equivalent work experience
Minimum experience required of the position.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in petroleum or chemical manufacturing facility with LNG facility experience preferred.
- Must have knowledge of general Industrial Health, Safety and Environmental management systems and practices.
- Experience with cryogenic refrigeration, gas processing, and/or steam.
- Experience with Emerson Delta V.
