Position Summary:
Under general supervision installs, maintains, and repairs heating and plumbing equipment for the storage, transmission, distribution and control of drainage, water, steam, gases and vacuum systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum of five years related experience in an institutional environment. Plumbing license desirable. Must have valid North Carolina driver’s license. Certified training in fire protection systems, and hydronic principles. Interface with employees, patients, visitors, vendors and contractors.
Required Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
Other Information:
Ability to move throughout the Medical Center. Visual acuity for reviewing written reports. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs for access to construction areas. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Exposed to temperature extremes from boiler room to air-conditioned areas. Work in areas of high tool noise levels. Exposure to high-speed cutting tools, electrical wires and equipment, sealing agents, adhesives and demolition debris. Work near machinery and resultant dust of construction.
