Job Duties
Patrols the town to protect life and property
Responds to calls for service
Enforces all federal, state and local laws, as well as town ordinances
Provides testimony
Prepares documents relating to the adjudication of cases in court
Apprehends and arrests criminal suspects and law violators
Qualifications
High school graduate
Must be a United States citizen
Must be 21 years old or older
Valid SC driver’s license
Must have successfully completed or have the ability to complete courses of study at the South
Carolina Criminal Justice Academy
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.
Salary Info: Starting salaries begin at $33,450 ($15.00 per hour) for non-certified and $35,776 ($16.00 per
hour for certified). The Town provides benefits, to include, medical, vision, dental, life insurance, annual
leave, paid sick leave, and SC Police Officer Retirement.
