Job Summary:

The Policy Coordinator works closely with the Blue Zones Project Policy Lead to ensure successful advancement of the project within the policy sector. Success is achieved when policies are passed and projects are implemented. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, a clear communicator, take ownership of duties assigned and show initiative where appropriate. This role will support the Public Policy team by managing administrative and operational activities.
  • This position will be on-site and will require a Covid-19 vaccination.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and research policies in food, built environment and tobacco to create a 'best practices' inventory
  • Assist in the development and update of the community blueprint
  • Actively manage reporting tools to ensure reporting accuracy
  • Assist with public affairs sector activities and attend workgroup committee meetings
  • Provide project logistics assistance
  • Brief the policy team on research found and provide concise updates
  • Assist in coordinating event logistics for Policy Summits
  • Coordinate focus groups, workgroups and committee meetings
  • Conduct policy research and analysis related to, but not limited to:
o Urban agriculture
o Healthy food retail
o Food justice and equity
o Active Transportation plan
o Safe Routes to School plan
  • Manage project coordination with demonstration and marquee projects
  • Compile organization performance/value measures, outcomes and community impact stories
Requirements:
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; experience in lieu of education considered
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Covid-19 vaccination
